Martvili
The ‘Kiduli Cableway – Martvili’ was built during Soviet Georgia and rehabilitated by GeoSpecTrans in 2011. It was put into operation in 1985. It has one intermediate support, and the lower station serves as a tensioning device for the drive and carrying cables.
The Martvili pendulum-type, double-cable, single-line cableway was designed by the GeoSpecTrans Institute. A standard 12-seat wagon built by TbilAviaMsheni operates on the cableway. It underwent reconstruction in 2013, including glazing of the lower station, and received cosmetic repairs in 2019. Project author: Vakhtang Lejava.
Additional Information
The Kiduli Cableway in Martvili is a double-cable, single-line pendulum cableway. The drive mechanism is located in the semi-basement of the lower station building in Martvili city center. This is also where the tension weights for the carrying and pulling cables are housed.
The second floor of the building houses the control electric cabinet and informational equipment showing the wagon's position.
The roof of the building is equipped with a wind speed meter. The lower station has three 2500 mm pulleys for the pulling cable.
